Now that the job-market is in full-swing, and a lot of application deadlines are coming up on November 1st, I thought it might be good to have a thread for any last-minute questions job-candidates have for search committee members. Is there anything you are dying for the "inside scoop" on, such as: What looks good or bad in particular dossier materials (cover letters, research statements, teaching portfolios, etc.)? How decisions are made about who to interview (e.g. do publications matter most?, etc.) What to include or not include? How to interview well? How the search process works? Etc. If you have a question, just pose it below and (assuming it's within the blog's mission) I'll start a new thread on it for search committees to answer!
