Written by some of the leading Einstein scholars, philosophers and historians, these essay encompass Einstein's annus mirabilis: the development of the general theory of relativity, his contribution to relativistic cosmology, his views on quantum theory, his philosophical and methodological legacies, and his ideas on politics. Striking a perfect balance between accessibility and serious scholarship, it is a welcome contribution to the vast literature on Einstein and his work and can also serve as a gentle introduction to Einstein's remarkable. . .
