The Fall 2014 David Norton Memorial Lecture will be delivered by Professor Douglas N. Husak, professor of philosophy at Rutgers University. The title of the lecture is "Why Does Our Punitive Drug Policy Persist?"The lecture will take place Friday, September 26, 2014, at 3:45 pm in the Bacchus Theatre of the University of Delaware's Perkins Student Center. The lecture is free and open to the public, and refreshments will be served afterwards.Douglas N. Husak is an internationally acclaimed legal philosopher whose research focuses on the criminal law. His interest in decisions about criminalization has led him to critically examine the rationale for drug prohibitions. Professor Husak also currently serves as editor-in-chief of Criminal Law and Philosophy. His books include Legalize This! The Case for Decriminalizing Drugs (2002), Overcriminalization: The Limits of the Criminal Law (2008), and, most recently, The Philosophy of Criminal Law (2010).The David Norton Memorial Lecture honors. . .
